Vineyard

Better late than never? I said we had a boring summer so far but I did forget to mention a day trip that Thomas and I took.  We headed to Arrington Vineyard in Tennessee.. It was a marvelous trip. Here are a view pictures.

My Freshmen

My daughter is started at UAH and will be a Freshman this year.  My son is starting at DHS and will be a Freshman this year... it's  just amazing how time has flown and my kiddos are all grown.

I have my own issues with my daughter right now, but I do want to brag on my son.  He has stood beside me with things recently. He has been supportive of my goals with my fitness and ultimately hasn't gave me too much grief at all this summer. We had some bad times last year and couple of counseling sessions later we are doing much much better.  I am super proud of him!  He will be on the advanced track as he has all advanced classes and he is going to be one heck of a football player this year!  He is already 6"1 wears a size 13 shoe and weighs 170 lbs.  He is a beast!

Isn't he handsome! :)

I do want to give my daughter kudos for making Chamber Choir as a Freshman, this is a big accomplishment for her and I am proud of her.

I love both my kids beyond words, and I hope they both have exciting new beginnings this year. I wish nothing for them but good health and happiness this school year!

Boring Summer

I haven't posted much lately, our summer has been pretty uneventful.  We haven't went camping or to the beach or anything.  Just day to day stuff.  Its been a tight summer financially but I hope that things will be improving in that area soon.

I am actually pretty happy besides the recent happenings between my daughter and myself.

I miss doing my races, haven't really had the money to sign up for many this year. I did get the Heel and Crank Duathlon and the Huntsville Sprint Triathlon done this year.  I missed out on the Wet dog and the Great Escape, but I did volunteer for that one.  There is an All you can eat bike ride I want to sign up for, its 50 miles.  I don't know if I can financially do that this year or not yet.  I still want to do the Racin' the station duathlon as well but again, it all depends on the funds.

I can't hardly see spending money on races, or trips when there are repairs that need to happen to the house, and kiddos need school clothes and stuff... we aren't broke, lol just other priorities with our money at this time.

I look forward to next year, next season because I feel I am going to be in the best shape of my life, and I do plan on making several of my favorite races! :)

For now, I will continue to workout and try to get stronger, healthier, and just keeping doing what I need to do in my day to day.

On another note... ROLL TIDE! It's about time for some Alabama Football! :)

New car

I totally forgot to mention I got a new car.

This is not the best picture of my car or my guy, but I am lazy and don't want to go out and take one lol and this is my new vehicle! :)

I had a 2010 Ford Escape, and loved it. I loved the leather seats, the sun roof, the fancy parts of the car and the fact that it was the newest vehicle to date that I have ever owned.  The problem was that it broke down on me three different times in the year that I had it, all three times the issue at hand was never successfully diagnosed and fixed. Once I was told it was bad gas. It got towed two times because it would not drive to the place, but they couldn't figure out what was going on with it.  Something made me feel uneasy with the vehicle. It broke down on me without warning and then the high dollar extended warranty I purchased was crap!  They messed the paperwork up on me when I purchased it they left off the mileage the car was when  I bought it... and every time I called them broke down on the side of the road they said my warranty was not valid.  The place I bought it always did me right and gave me a car to drive, but it was always a hassle and big fuss.

I told the sales guy at the dealership I would get another vehicle if they could get me in one for the same price I got into that Ford.  They did, they got me in a 2011 Hyundai Tuscon.  I miss some of the features of the Ford still, but have piece of mind and better warranty and feel like this vehicle might be a little more dependable.  Do I think bad of all Fords? No... just think I got some sort of lemon or something.  I do like my sleek black car, and its getting me around town just like I need it to! :)

I have had it two months now... I got it on June 22nd, the day I did Huntsville Sprint Triathlon.... I had to go to the event in a loaner car, it just happened to be a 2013 Hyundai Tuscon... I think I fell in love with that car so it helped make my decision to get one, and the 2011 was more my price range. :)
