Happy Adventures to Cooper

I am a bit torn with emotions as Cooper leaves on a new adventure today.

We took him in after he had several homes in the course of a few short months.  Soon as we got him we understood why he had so many different homes.  He was selfish, spoiled, did not play well with others and was very hyper.

He came a long way, he became a good boy.  He still had accidents in the house that I really feel were on purpose, he still ran out the front door anytime it would open and headed straight for the road, almost getting run over several times.  He had changed though, he got along and played well with Rueben which took him a lot of effort and punishment to get to this point.  He showed us he loves us and for this I greatly regret having him leave on this adventure.  He didn't trust us, he didn't love us and in the 8 months we had him he had learned who was the boss and who loved him and learned to love us back.  He was super smart, could sit, rollover, shake and would walk circles.... he was amazing.  I miss him greatly!

The decision to let him adventure on was quickly made because it was a decision we knew we needed to make. Again, we didn't plan on another dog, just didn't want him to keep having issues and wanted to try to help him.  After getting a second dog we realized we might have bitten off more than we could chew, because it was harder.  Walking, pottying, bathing/grooming, flea prevention everything was harder than it was with one furry baby.  Now we would still have him here today if we didn't have a home that we felt would be good for him, but when the opportunity came to help my aunt find a companion it just seemed like the right moment to let him go on to a one person family.  He highly demands attention and with only one mom, and no pesty brothers/sisters in the home he will hopefully do fine.  I fear he will miss us greatly as he did fall in love with us finally and this breaks my heart.... I hope he loves his new home and gets all the attention he wants/needs.  I tend to take in animals all the time that need things... Rodney needed to be treated better than he was getting at the pound and we nursed him back to health and helped him get stronger and get to a new home, Simon was being eaten alive by fleas and I took him in and cared for him until we could find a better home as we weren't looking for another pet... then we got Cooper and again we helped him learn a few things and gave him love so, but it was just too much for our family to maintain.
I love animals, and want them all... its always been a problem for me. I understand after 37 years that I can not save them all nor can I afford or have the time to take care of them all... I will miss you Cooper, I hope your adventure is happy.

Memorial Day Weekend

I had a nice Memorial Day weekend. My mom came for a visit.  We spent time at Alabama Jubilee and saw the balloons.  It was nice and relaxing for the most part.

I did another practice triathlon on Saturday, then we headed over to Point Mallard.... Sunday more of Point Mallard and on Monday Destiny and I went on a float in the kayaks.

I enjoyed the weekend, click here to see some photos.

IB Book signing

Graduation is nearing, and I am full of sort of different emotions!

My daughter was part of the IB book signing ceremony today which means she was wearing her cap and gown

I am so proud of her accomplishment. It's awesome to graduate but to graduate with honors as part of the elite with the IB diploma is something that has required hard work and dedication on her part and I am extremely proud of her!

Mother's Day 2013

Well its been a good day.

Last night Thomas and I went out in celebration of Mother's day.  This morning I got up and cleaned house. Both of my kiddos were at their dads.

My daughter came home around noon with two gorgeous cards and a pretty white rose.

I just loved my cards, they were beautiful and made my day!

Thomas took his Mom out for dinner and insisted I join them.. we went to Chili's and I got my favorite Quesadilla explosion salad, yum!

Some silly pictures while we were waiting on our food arrive! :)

My son came home from his Dad's and gave me a nice big ol' hug and told me Happy Mother's Day so the holiday has been complete for me! :) It's been a great day.

I hope every Mother out there feel they are special and loved today!

Here is a card I made my mom:

Now tonight we will all sit and watch ET together! :)

Handy man

Well Thomas and I drove to get another belated Birthday present for me, a new helmet as I needed one since mine was damaged and he said he would buy me another one... we make it to Huntsville about 25 minutes from the house to shop and just before leaving the store, my son calls to tell me he can not get the water to shut off in the shower as the knob had broken off.

UGHH!  It is stuck running on hot water and he doesn't know how to cut it off we will be driving 25 minutes to get there we were hoping the hot water heater doesn't have issues on top of the shower.

We get home and my handy man (Thomas if you couldn't figure that one out) cut the water off and investigated the situation, we had to have a new knobby thing which needed to be installed to our very old plumbing.  So that meant that Thomas had a huge task in front of him.

The very next day, he managed to cut into our copper plumbing and install some new fittings of pvc and a new shower system and we now have a working shower!!! He rocks I know!

I would not know what to do without him in situations like this, he truly amazes me with all his capabilities and I am blessed that he is my guy! :)

The best day!

Today is probably one of the best days in my daughter's life.  Lets start by explaining she hasn't really been able to drive in over a year since she wrecked my car because I couldn't afford her to drive my car that owe way too much on, and she hasn't wanted to drive the bug because she didn't feel safe in it.  She is graduating in just a few weeks and there is a special surprise she doesn't know anything about!

We started with the plan to have a birthday/graduation party

And well today is the day for the party!

We were going to have it a park locally but the weather did not cooperate with us so we all met at JW Steakhouse instead.  My Dad and Karen, My mom, My maw-maw and Jimmy, My aunt Rita, My other mom Cathy, and My brother, his wife and three gorgeous children were all in attendance to this small informal party.

My brother gave her a gift to open that went a little something like this.

Yep she got a car for her Birthday/Graduation from her "Unkle Ruck and Aunt Julie".  She was beyond happy.

After dinner and cake, we all loaded up and headed to the Church where her Chorus was performing their Spring Concert.

Destiny had a nice long solo on this concert and she sounded like an angel singing, or how I would assume would one sound... She was then gifted with another surprise.  She won the $1000 scholarship that is offered by DHS Chorus and she wasn't expecting that!

It was a great day full of family, fun, and smiles.  I think watching my daughter receive so many blessings today was one of the happiest days of my life! :)

My Birthday

I had such a wonderful birthday!!!

It started with my man buying me a new phone. I got it a week before my birthday.  I got the Droid razor maxx HD.... yeah yeah yeah I know I didn't get the famous iphone 5 even though I could have for the same amount of money.  Why did I choose this phone? Because the iphone is proprietary with its application and itunes and every encounter I have had with that software makes me cuss (my son has an ipod).  I do not like programs who make me use a software to look at folders and such on my equipment.  I can take photos on or off, or music on or off my phone from my computer simply box moving file folders no software needed and I like that, no I love that!  I love that phone is durable and I went three days recently without ever charging it! I also have a ton of memory/space on this phone as well as it taking an extra sd for even more memory.  I can not for the life of me figure out the fuss over the iphone or i anything... maybe its just me but I love my droid!!!!

On my actual birthday Thomas took me shopping for another birthday present! A bike rack for my Ford! :)  I have been wanting one of these for a long time.

He also bought me new workout pants, and a lock for my bike rack.  We all went out to eat fajita's together and all in all it was a great day!

My 37 years have been pretty fantastic, I have been blessed with mom and dad who loved me, a brother who loved me, two beautiful children and the last 10 years a man that has done more than spoil me... he truly loves me and enjoys making me happy.  I am so blessed!
